Respite Care - we all need a break sometimes.
Respite Care supports you and your carer by giving you both a break for a short period of time.
Respite bookings are predominantly for two or more weeks, and usually planned in advance. But we understand the need to be flexible, therefore will accommodate a week stay in certain circumstances.
Many respite residents return for multiple stays throughout the year, and book their stay in advance. Advance booking enables planning and flexibility for the whole family.
What to expect while in respite care?
During your stay with us, you will receive the same services and support as our permanent residents.
Your accommodation will be your own private room with an ensuite. Meals and laundry services are taken care of by us to ensure your stay is relaxing, leaving time for the things you most enjoy. Our expert nursing and care staff provide any personal and nursing care you may require.
We have activities throughout the week and most respite residents enjoy the opportunity to socialise with new friends, joining other residents for meals in our spacious dining area.
Who can access this service?
You may be eligible for residential respite care if you are an older person who has the assistance of a carer with your daily needs.
An ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) Assessment is required to determine your eligibility. You can access up to 63 days of respite care in each financial year. It is then simply a matter of contacting The Carer Gateway to ascertain available dates at the CHT facility of your choice.
