Reimaging Aged Care in Tasmania

Pinnacle Village has been designed by Circa Morris Nunn Architects with support from Aged Care Experts. They are the minds behind luxury hospitality projects like MACq 01, Sapphire Hotel, and Brooke Street Pier. They bring their expertise to a vision that plans to exceed the needs and expectations of our future and current residents. This project will set a new standard for aged care in Tasmania.

The facility will provide a range of living options across one site including a community hub to welcome the outside in with shared facilities for the neighbouring community like a café, hairdresser, and meeting rooms.

Our plans have the resident centered in every decision. Every room will have a view of the mountain, the landscaped courtyard, or private green spaces. We understand the importance of natural light and maintaining a peaceful and safe environment.

We have designed Pinnacle Village to cater to the changing lifestyle needs of our future and current residents. Once the aged care facility is complete, the residents of Hawthorn Village will relocate to the new village, with space for additional residents to meet the demands of Tasmania’s growing population.

The facility has many social spaces. These include a restaurant, activity rooms, gym, library, BBQ area, and a lounge/games area. CHT will be providing managed activities for the residents. However, the community can also generate activities through these areas.

High-scale hospitality services are featured throughout the facility. A high-end commercial kitchen will create food for the residential aged care facility, café and onsite restaurant. We know the quality of the food is essential. By creating a quality kitchen, we will employ quality kitchen staff, to generate quality food. Each of the areas will have a different menu to provide a rich variety of options to the residents.

Introducing Assisted Living to Tasmania

Assisted Living apartments are a new concept for Tasmania. Residents can enjoy the independence of private living spaces, combined with quality hotel-like amenities and assistance for daily living activities. This new approach is comprehensive and ensures residents get the support they need while maintaining their autonomy and quality of life. The apartments contain one or two bedrooms, a kitchen, and in-house laundry facilities. There are separate bathrooms in the case of two-bedroom apartments. CHT will offer additional services like linen washing and meal cooking suited to the resident’s needs.

Designed to the Aged Care Royal Commission Recommendations

In the aged care facility, we will follow the house model recommended by the Aged Care Royal Commission and the recently released Government Design Guidelines. It comprises five lots of 15 rooms with one dining room, one lounge room, and an activity space to share for each of the “households”. Residents are free to visit all the houses.
